As misinformation spread and economic uncertainty grew, cracks in the quarantine began to appear across the world.
People refused to stay home and politicians greedily fanned the flames for short term personal gain. The system was pushing and pulling and the uncertainty of it all become too much for many to handle.
On May 1st there were a lot of co-ordinated protests all over the USA. The protest in Chicago had taken place outside the Thompson centre and there were hundreds of protesters (mostly Trump supporters and right wingers) as well as a small bunch of anti protest protesters across the road. Jair Bolsonaro, Brasil’s president, joined the protestors in anti-quarantine demonstrations outside the army headquarters in the capital of Brasilia. Bolsonaro previously called the restrictions of movement as “dictatorial.” April 20, 2020. Brasilia, Brasil. EPA / BBC News
